Nyikom hill next to Pásztó is a popular gliding starting point in Hungary. It rises up to the height of 763 m at the Northern end of the 8-km-long west trend of the Mátra. You can find the starting point at the height of 650 meters under the peak.
Access: We arrive in Pásztó on the highway 21 leading to Salgótarján. Go towards Galyatető until you reach Hasznos. Then turn right at the post office, at the end of the road you will find a dirt road leading to the starting place.

Sárhegy
Another well-known starting point is Sárhegy in Gyöngyös. It is accessible from Gyöngyös on foot following the yellow bar sign or on road No24. Turn left before you reach Mátrafüred towards the airport on Pipis-hill and follow the yellow bar sign on foot.
