The Vörös-kő (Red Rock) lookout tower is situated near Mátraszentlászló on the 781 m high Vörös-kő mountain. It was named after the red rocks that can be found nearby. In 2005 a new lookout tower was constructed on the site of the former one from where the view is really dramatic. The crags of Galyatető, Mátraszentlászló, Mátraszentistván, Ágasvár and in the north in good weather conditions even the High Tatra Mountains are visible. It is the easiest to get there by following the yellow symbol that starts in Kossuth street, Mátraszentlászló, and it takes only a few minutes’ walk as the distance is approximately 500 metres.
The lookout tower can be visited free of charge throughout the year.
