The church made of stone from the Mátra can be found near the road leading to Mátraszentistván which has become one of the symbols of the High Mátra mountains. The legend of constructing the church which was inaugurated in 1942 says that the three villages, namely Mátraszentimre, Mátraszentlászló and Mátraszentistván could not agree on the exact place of the church so the archbishop of Eger designated a site that lies at an equal distance from all the three settlements. A typical striped stone the Stuller rock can be admired behind the church.
