Recsk has become well-known for its ore mining but only its memories live on. The exhibition commemorates the former mine.
The former Miners’ Cultural House operates as a Cultural Centre that accommodates the mining exhibition. The exhibition presents the relics, objects and memorabilia of the metal mine of Recsk. The rich collection of minerals of more than 150 pieces also contains half-precious stones that were collected in the nearby mines. In the hall the memorabilia of Hungary’s rock mining can be seen and mining machines are on display in the yard.
Lectures and guided tours on the metal mining of Recsk are available for groups who arranged appointments earlier at the Cultural Centre (with a minimum of 12 people).
